About me

My name is Silke Horn and I am a software engineer at iteratec.

Until March 2014 I was a research and teaching assistent at the Department of Mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany).

The contents of my PhD studies were at the intersection of different areas of pure mathematics -- more precisely, I studied tropical oriented matroids and cubical complexes. (Who ever wants to know more about them, can have a look at some nice pictures here.) Afterwards I worked on discrete optimization for two years.

Moreover, I have been a developer of the mathematical software project polymake since 2009.
